Why this works

Picking this pair often comes down to weighing a passive bonus against conflicting game plans. Arc Warden benefits nicely from Arcane Aura, as both the main hero and the Tempest Double gain the global mana regeneration. This lets him spam Spark Wraiths to farm and control areas of the map much more freely. In fights, it means having enough resources to consistently use Flux and Magnetic Field with both units. The aura smooths out Arc's resource issues, allowing him to be more active earlier and accelerate his item progression without needing to buy specific mana items.

The challenge arises from their different approaches to the mid-game. While Arc Warden gets a convenient buff, his playstyle revolves around splitting the map and farming safely, using his double to participate in fights from afar. Crystal Maiden, by contrast, wants her team grouped up to protect her so she can land a big Freezing Field. This can lead to situations where CM and the team are fighting outnumbered while Arc Warden is on the other side of the map. The passive resource gain is helpful, but it doesn't solve the fundamental disconnect in how they want to play the game.
