Axe + Clinkz

Why this works

Deciding on a core to pair with Axe often comes down to who can best use the setup he provides. Clinkz is an ideal answer, as Berserker's Call provides the perfect lockdown for him to unload a full Burning Barrage on a priority target. The combination is simple and brutally effective at deleting a single hero before a real fight can begin. Tar Bomb helps as well, slowing the target so they can't easily kite or escape if they survive the initial burst from Clinkz. This lets Axe stay on top of them with his own damage.

This duo excels at creating map pressure through pickoffs. Once Axe gets his Blink Dagger, he and Clinkz can hunt together, turning any hero caught out of position into a quick kill. This forces the opposing team to play defensively, group up earlier than they want, and invest in saves like a Force Staff or Ghost Scepter. For the enemy, the game becomes about surviving Axe's initiation. For the Axe and Clinkz team, it's about constantly finding that one pickoff that breaks the game open and lets them take objectives.
