Axe + Lich

Why this works

Spreading out to avoid a big Chain Frost is the correct instinct, but Axe makes that impossible. His Berserker's Call forces enemies into a perfect clump for Lich's ultimate to bounce repeatedly, often winning a fight on its own. It gets worse when Lich puts Frost Shield on Axe before he jumps in. The extra armor makes Axe incredibly tanky during the taunt, and the shield's slow punishes anyone trying to fight back or flee after. The combined lockdown and slow makes it almost impossible for heroes to disengage once Axe has them.

Once Axe gets his Blink Dagger, the duo dictates the pace of the game. The threat of their initiation forces the enemy team to play separated and passively, making it difficult for them to group up for objectives. Their main hope is to get a pick-off on either Axe or Lich before they can find an opening. For the duo, the plan is straightforward: find two or more enemies near each other, execute the Blink-Call-Frost combo, and take towers off the back of the won teamfight.
