How Bane and Techies perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Bane and Techies win 50.37% of ranked matches when playing on the same team, over 14,082 matches.
Setting up a kill on an isolated hero is where this duo can find some success. Bane provides the long-duration lockdown with either Nightmare or Fiend's Grip, giving Techies an easy target for his spells. A well-timed Fiend's Grip allows Techies to land a full-damage Blast Off! and follow up with Sticky Bombs for a near-guaranteed kill. This makes ganking and punishing bad positioning fairly reliable. The combo's strength is mostly focused on a single target, however. In larger teamfights where multiple enemies need to be controlled or a key save item comes out, the effectiveness can fall off, which keeps this pairing from being a consistently dominant force.

These rows use the last 30 days of quality-filtered ranked matches, all patches in that span combined — a wider window than the patch-scoped count above, so the per-rank match totals can exceed it.
