Batrider + Lich

Why this works

Setting up for a teamfight can feel a bit awkward with this pair. Batrider wants to find a key hero and isolate them with Flaming Lasso, pulling them far away from their allies. At the same time, Lich is looking for the perfect Chain Frost, which requires enemies to be clustered together for maximum bounces. These two signature abilities work against each other. While their laning can be strong thanks to combined slows and harassment, and Frost Shield is a solid defensive tool for a diving Batrider, their core teamfight objectives are fundamentally opposed.

This tension plays out across the game. Early on, they can dominate a lane and create pressure. As teams start grouping up, however, their plans diverge. A successful fight often requires one hero to compromise. Either Lich uses his ultimate on a sub-optimal clump of heroes before Batrider pulls the main target, or Batrider has to commit his Lasso without the full support of a big teamfight spell to follow up. Because their primary tools don't naturally combine into a single, overwhelming threat, the duo often feels like two strong heroes playing near each other rather than a coordinated partnership.
