Batrider + Sniper

Why this works

Pulling an enemy into your team with Flaming Lasso seems like a perfect setup for a long-range carry, but the execution with Sniper can be awkward. For Sniper to contribute his full damage to the Lassoed target, he has to position much further forward than is safe for him. This puts an immobile, squishy hero at extreme risk. While Batrider has tools like Flamebreak to disrupt enemies, he offers very little in the way of direct protection or peel. His kit is built for diving and chasing, not for babysitting a backliner who gets jumped.

In practice, this means your team's initiation often puts your carry in a bad spot. During ganks, Sniper might not be close enough to finish the target Batrider catches, letting them get away. In larger teamfights, Batrider will be diving deep to find his target, leaving Sniper to fend for himself against any enemies that circle around to the backline. A coordinated opponent will often ignore whatever Batrider is doing and simply focus on the exposed Sniper, who lacks a dedicated protector to keep him alive and shooting.
