Beastmaster + Kez

Why this works

Struggling to control the map with this duo often comes from a fundamental clash in game plans. Beastmaster hits a major power spike in the mid-game and wants to group his team, using Primal Roar and his summons to pressure towers and force fights. Kez, on the other hand, is a melee carry who typically needs more time and safe farm to acquire the core items that make him a real threat. Beastmaster creates a window to take over the game, but Kez is rarely in a position to help capitalize on it, leaving the team without its intended primary damage dealer.

This mismatch plays out with Beastmaster trying to force objectives while Kez is on the other side of the map farming. The team with Beastmaster is then forced into fighting without a strong carry, often losing teamfights and the map control they were trying to secure. Enemies can exploit this by picking off the isolated Kez or by simply rolling over the rest of his team in a fight where they have more heroes present. The draft pulls the team in two different directions, making it difficult to execute a cohesive strategy at any stage of the game.
