Beastmaster + Necrophos

Why this works

Setting up a kill with Primal Roar gives Necrophos a perfect window to apply his spells and secure a finish with Reaper's Scythe. That initial lockdown from Beastmaster is powerful and reliable. Beyond that specific ultimate combo, however, their abilities don't have much natural overlap. Beastmaster's kit is built around enabling physical damage and pushing with his summons via Inner Beast, which provides no benefit to a purely magical damage dealer like Necrophos. Likewise, the sustain from Necrophos is helpful for anyone, but it doesn't amplify what Beastmaster is trying to do.

Across the game, this pairing can feel a bit one-dimensional, hinging on the cooldown of Primal Roar. When the combo is available, it's a serious threat for picking off a key enemy and starting a fight with an advantage. When it's not, the two heroes tend to operate on separate wavelengths. Beastmaster will apply pressure with his army while Necrophos looks to wear down enemies in teamfights with Heartstopper Aura. The success often comes down to individual play and target selection rather than a deep, synergistic game plan.
