Bristleback + Void Spirit

Why this works

Trying to secure a kill with this pair can feel disconnected. Bristleback creates chaos and draws focus, wanting to brawl for as long as possible while stacking Quill Spray damage. He slows targets down, but he doesn't offer any hard lockdown. Void Spirit is the opposite kind of core; he's an assassin who wants to jump in, delete a single target with a quick burst of spells, and get out safely. Bristleback's slows can certainly help Void Spirit connect, but it's not the reliable, long-duration stun that a hero like Void Spirit needs to guarantee his full damage combo on a priority target.

As the game progresses, these two heroes often find themselves looking for different kinds of fights. Bristleback wants to run headfirst at the enemy team, while Void Spirit prefers to play on the edges and wait for an opening. The core dynamic is that neither hero really provides what the other is missing. Bristleback doesn't get the setup he needs to keep people from kiting him, and Void Spirit doesn't get the control he needs to land his burst. They don't interfere with each other, but they don't amplify each other either, making their collective impact feel rather ordinary.
