Broodmother + Phantom Lancer

Why this works

Flooding the map with units from two different heroes puts enormous pressure on the enemy team. Broodmother’s Spiderlings can control one side of the map while Phantom Lancer farms up, forcing opponents to have multiple sources of area-of-effect damage. If they lack the tools to clear illusions and spiders, they'll quickly be overwhelmed by the constant push. The risk, however, is that heroes drafted to counter one of them are often perfect for countering the other. A single Axe or Earthshaker on the enemy team can make the game incredibly difficult for both heroes at once, nullifying the entire strategy.

In a game that goes well, Broodmother dominates her lane and forces rotations, creating the space Phantom Lancer needs to safely reach his core items. Later on, they can present two separate, dangerous pushes that stretch enemy defenses thin. The problem is when teamfights break out. Because both rely on swarms of weak units for damage and survival, a well-placed Echo Slam or Berserker's Call can instantly neutralize both heroes' contributions. The outcome often hinges on whether the enemy lineup has those specific tools, making the success of this pairing feel very unpredictable from game to game.
