Chaos Knight + Zeus

Why this works

Picking these two together is about creating a damage problem for the enemy team. Chaos Knight brings overwhelming single-target physical burst with his Phantasm illusions, but he has almost no area-of-effect damage. Zeus covers that weakness perfectly, blanketing the fight in magical damage from a safe distance. When Chaos Knight uses Reality Rift on a target, Zeus can easily land a follow-up Lightning Bolt. More broadly, a pre-fight Thundergod's Wrath can soften up every enemy, making it much easier for CK to find and delete a vulnerable hero before they can react.

During fights, this duo forces the enemy into a difficult choice. Zeus stays on the backline, chipping away at everyone's health bars, while Chaos Knight and his illusions dive deep to eliminate one key target. The vision from Zeus's spells can sometimes help Chaos Knight find an opening for a gank, but the core of the synergy is simply the split damage profile. This pairing works well because they fill each other's gaps, not because they have a big setup-and-payoff combo. Their effectiveness relies on opponents being unable to itemize against both high physical and magical damage at the same time.
