Clinkz + Grimstroke

Why this works

Picking Grimstroke for a Clinkz lineup relies on general lockdown rather than a specific spell combo. Grimstroke’s ultimate, Soulbind, doesn't have a natural partner in Clinkz’s kit, since Clinkz lacks the kind of single-target spells that get copied. The synergy comes from more basic interactions. Grimstroke’s Ink Swell provides a reliable stun for Clinkz to get in position and unload damage, and a Phantom’s Embrace can silence a target to prevent an escape. The leash from Soulbind itself can be helpful, holding two heroes in place while Clinkz channels Burning Barrage on them, but it’s not a unique interaction.

In practice, this duo finds its footing by securing early pickoffs. Grimstroke’s slows and stun make it easy for Clinkz to chase down heroes in the laning stage. As the game progresses, their success depends entirely on landing those setup spells. A missed Ink Swell or a quickly dispelled Phantom means Clinkz is often left exposed after breaking his invisibility. While the pair can coordinate to delete a single hero, they don't create the kind of teamfight problem that many other Grimstroke combinations do. It’s a functional pairing for ganking, but one that doesn't offer much beyond that.
