Clinkz + Sand King

Why this works

Pairing these two often feels like executing two separate plans at the same time. The core idea is simple: Sand King provides a setup with Burrowstrike, and Clinkz provides the burst damage to kill the stunned target. The problem is that their kits don't build on each other beyond that initial lockdown. Sand King wants to hit multiple heroes with his area-of-effect magic damage, while Clinkz is designed to melt a single hero with physical attacks. This can lead to a fundamental disagreement over who the primary target is and how a fight should be approached.

In practice, this dynamic means a successful initiation might not lead to a won teamfight. Sand King can land a perfect multi-hero stun, but Clinkz can only kill one of those heroes quickly. After that initial kill, Clinkz often needs to retreat to safety, leaving Sand King to deal with the remaining enemies who are now angry and focused on him. Clinkz wants to find isolated targets to pick off, while Sand King wants to dive into the enemy team; their goals can diverge as the game goes on.
