Dark Seer + Zeus

Why this works

Stacking magic damage sources can make it easy for opponents to itemize against you. The combo of Dark Seer's Vacuum into Zeus's spells seems strong, but it has a core weakness: Zeus lacks a big area-of-effect nuke to drop on the clumped-up heroes. His damage is more spread out through bounces and his global ultimate. This means you don't get the huge, fight-winning burst you might expect from such a setup. As the game goes on, a single Pipe of Insight or a few Glimmer Capes on the enemy team can absorb a huge portion of your combined damage output, neutralizing the threat.

The pairing often feels awkward in practice. Dark Seer wants to put Ion Shell on a durable frontliner who can run at the enemy, but Zeus plays from the opposite side of the screen. In fights, your win condition becomes a race: can you deal enough magic damage to kill key targets before their magic resistance items come online and make them too tough to burst? The enemy knows your plan from the draft. Because the setup isn't perfect and the counter is obvious, fights often feel very close and can swing based on small advantages.
