Why this works

Struggling to build momentum can be an issue for this pair. Doom wants to use Devour and farm his key items to hit a specific timing, while Dark Willow also comes online much more effectively with some gold of her own. In fights, their spells can feel redundant. Using Cursed Crown on a target already taking damage from Doom's ultimate is often a waste of a good stun. This forces a choice: either focus fire with inefficient spell usage, or split your control across multiple targets, which can leave the primary threat alive longer than you'd like.

This dynamic means mid-game fights can be awkward. The ideal play is for Doom to isolate one hero while Dark Willow uses Terrorize and Bramble Maze to disrupt everyone else. However, it's easy to miscoordinate and overlap disables on the same person. Opponents can play around this by grouping up to prevent an easy initiation for Doom, or by pressuring the map before he has his core items online. For this combination to succeed, they need clear communication to ensure their powerful spells are applied to different, high-value targets.
