Dark Willow + Zeus

Why this works

Pairing two heroes who rely on magic burst can sometimes feel redundant. Zeus already has very reliable, long-range damage that doesn't require a lot of setup to land. While Dark Willow’s Cursed Crown provides a stun, its delay means the target isn't locked down for Zeus's initial burst. Furthermore, their positioning in fights can be at odds. Zeus wants to stay far in the backline to cast his spells safely, while Willow often needs to get much closer to use Bedlam effectively. This can leave them split and unable to protect each other when a fight turns.

Early in the game, their combined harass can be annoying, but both heroes are very fragile and susceptible to ganks. As the game progresses, their shared reliance on magical damage becomes a significant liability. A single Pipe of Insight or an early BKB on an enemy core can neutralize a huge part of their combined threat. Even Dark Willow's Terrorize can be counter-intuitive, scattering enemies and making it harder for Zeus to hit multiple targets at once. They end up doing similar things without really enabling one another, leading to a combo that feels less than the sum of its parts.
