Doom + Pangolier

Why this works

Playing against this lane pairing can be confusing, as their goals in a fight often work against each other. Pangolier wants to use Rolling Thunder to scatter an enemy team, creating chaos and stunning multiple targets. Doom, on the other hand, wants to isolate and eliminate a single, high-value hero with his ultimate. The problem is that a chaotic Rolling Thunder can easily knock the Doomed target to safety or push away the allies trying to focus them down. This forces the two heroes to play on separate timings, rather than enabling each other.

As the game moves into the mid-game, this clash becomes more apparent. A successful fight requires the Pangolier to perfectly set up a target for Doom, which is much harder than simply causing maximum disruption. More often, one hero initiates and the other has to scramble to find an impact in the resulting chaos. While having two powerful teamfight heroes is rarely a disaster, their core abilities don't amplify one another. They tend to create two separate fights happening in the same space, which makes executing a clean game plan difficult for your team.
