Doom + Techies

Why this works

Picking these two heroes together forces a choice between playing fast or playing slow. Doom’s ultimate wants to isolate a key target and have the team collapse on them for a quick kill. Techies provides huge damage, but it's usually from mines that were placed ahead of time. It's hard to guarantee a `Doom`ed target will run into a minefield. While Techies can contribute with `Sticky Bomb` and `Blast Off!`, this puts him in the middle of the fight and often isn't the instant burst needed to finish the job before the target walks away.

This dynamic means Doom and Techies can feel like they're playing separate games. Doom is often out looking for pickoffs on his own timer, trying to create an advantage by removing one hero. Meanwhile, Techies is focused on area denial, methodically setting up traps around towers or Roshan. The combination works best when the enemy team has to siege into your defenses, allowing Doom a clean ultimate on someone already in the minefield. Otherwise, their plans don't always line up, making it difficult to consistently coordinate their strongest spells for a decisive fight.
