Doom + Templar Assassin

Why this works

Fighting over farm after the laning stage is the core problem here. Both Doom and Templar Assassin are exceptionally greedy heroes who need to accelerate their item progression to be effective. Templar Assassin wants to clear ancient stacks and jungle camps for her core items, but this is the same farm Doom needs to supplement his income from Devour. They end up competing for the same side of the map, and since neither is great at creating early space for the other, one or both often fall behind. They are both single-target focused without much direct ability combination.

This resource conflict means the team's mid-game spike often feels delayed. Instead of one hero hitting a crisp timing, you get two heroes who are under-farmed. While Doom can lock down a target, an under-equipped Templar Assassin may not have the damage to secure the kill. This forces them to play passively, hunting for scraps of farm instead of dictating the tempo. Opponents exploit this by grouping to force objectives, knowing this duo struggles to fight from behind or coordinate their independent game plans.
