Drow Ranger + Witch Doctor

Why this works

Pairing these two heroes is a bet on a specific teamfight plan. Drow Ranger offers multiple ways to keep enemies in place, which is exactly what Witch Doctor needs to land a full-duration Death Ward. A well-placed Gust provides a long silence to stop enemies from casting spells to escape or interrupt the channel, while the slows from Frost Arrows and Multishot make it difficult for them to simply walk out of the ultimate's range. If Witch Doctor can also land Maledict on a key target before the Ward goes down, the focused damage becomes incredibly hard to survive.

The combo relies entirely on positioning. Both Drow Ranger and Witch Doctor are fragile heroes who want to stay on the edge of a fight, and they can be vulnerable to aggressive initiators who can jump the back lines. If the enemy team can get on top of either hero before they can set up, the whole strategy falls apart. The lane itself can also be tricky, as they don't have a reliable hard stun to lock down opponents early. This makes their success conditional, creating a slight but not overwhelming advantage when they get the space they need.
