Earthshaker + Gyrocopter

Why this works

Struggling to build momentum is the core problem for this pair. Gyrocopter is a fragile carry who needs a strong laning phase to come online, but Earthshaker offers neither the harass nor the sustain to secure one. As a melee support, he can’t trade hits effectively, leaving Gyrocopter exposed and easily zoned. The lane’s only real threat is Fissure, but its cost and cooldown are too high to create consistent pressure. This forces Gyrocopter into a defensive posture from the start, delaying the items he needs to fight and take objectives.

This early deficit follows them into the mid-game. Earthshaker might land a perfect Blink Dagger initiation into Echo Slam, but a Gyrocopter playing from behind simply won't have the damage from Flak Cannon to clean up the fight. The enemy team can often survive the initial burst and turn on the underfarmed Gyrocopter. Instead of creating space for his carry, Earthshaker’s presence in the lane often starves Gyrocopter of the resources needed to become a factor, turning what should be winning teamfights into traded kills or outright losses.
