Earthshaker + Zeus

Why this works

Pairing these two often comes down to a bet on winning the mid-game teamfight. Earthshaker provides the lockdown with Fissure, creating a clear window for Zeus to land his full combo on a target. In larger engagements, an Echo Slam can set up a devastating Thundergod's Wrath follow-up, bursting multiple heroes at once. The main catch is that nearly all this damage is magical. If the enemy team identifies this early, they can itemize with magic resistance or spell immunity, significantly reducing the duo's impact before the fight even begins.

The success of this pairing really depends on timing. A roaming Earthshaker can help Zeus secure his lane, but both heroes are hungry for levels and mana. Their strongest window is the mid-game, after Shaker gets his Blink Dagger and they can start initiating fights across the map. The goal is to build a lead before enemy cores can finish a Black King Bar. Once those are active, Zeus has to play much more cautiously from the backline, and Earthshaker’s initiation loses a lot of its follow-up potential, making it harder to close out games.
