Ember Spirit + Invoker

Why this works

Fighting for the same farm and map space can be a problem for this duo. Both Ember Spirit and Invoker often want to be the team's active, playmaking core, needing a strong start to hit their timings and take over the mid-game. Their abilities don't naturally set each other up for success. Ember's Searing Chains provides a root, but it's often too short and unreliable for Invoker to land a difficult spell like Sun Strike or Meteor. Likewise, Invoker's control spells like Cold Snap or Tornado aren't always what Ember needs to stay on a target.

This results in two heroes who may end up competing for resources rather than amplifying each other. If the enemy team plays aggressively and shuts down one of them, the other is left with a massive burden to carry. Their combined presence can leave the draft feeling top-heavy with magic damage, potentially lacking a solid frontline initiator or the sustained physical damage needed to take down buildings or durable enemy heroes. The game plan often relies on both cores winning their individual matchups, which isn't always a safe bet.
