Ember Spirit + Tusk

Why this works

Trying to coordinate a gank with this pair can be less smooth than it looks. Tusk provides initiation with Snowball and can trap enemies with Ice Shards, setting up for Ember Spirit’s damage. However, the combo often feels redundant. Ember is already highly mobile and has his own root with Searing Chains; he doesn't rely on setup the way other cores do. Furthermore, Tusk's abilities can sometimes interfere. A poorly placed Ice Shard wall can block Ember’s approach or push the target out of Searing Chains range, making the lockdown less reliable than a simple stun would be.

As the game progresses, their plans can diverge. Both heroes want to be active early, but if they don't secure a strong lead, their impact can fade. Tusk looks to force grouped fights around his Snowball timing, while Ember Spirit often prefers to split-push with Fire Remnants and dance around the edges of a fight with Sleight of Fist. This can leave Tusk initiating without his main damage source, or it can force Ember into a head-on fight he'd rather avoid. They can end up playing two different games on the same map.
