Enigma + Tidehunter

Why this works

Playing against this lineup means constantly tracking two of the biggest teamfight spells in the game. The obvious plan is for Enigma to land a Black Hole, with Tidehunter following up with Ravage for a long duration of control. The reality is that these abilities can feel redundant. Both are huge area-of-effect lockdowns, and using them together on the same targets can be overkill when one would have been enough to win the fight. This overlap means their combined strength isn't always greater than the sum of its parts, as they both try to accomplish the same goal.

The success of this duo often hinges on which team better plays around their long cooldowns. Both Enigma and Tidehunter need good positioning, usually from a Blink Dagger, to be effective. If one of them has to use their ultimate to save the other or secure a minor pickoff, the team's fighting power is drastically cut. Enemies will try to bait out one spell and then fight before the other can be used, turning the massive teamfight potential into a predictable and manageable threat.
