Grimstroke + Sniper

Why this works

A team with Sniper is always looking for ways to hold targets down, and Grimstroke provides a specific tool for that. The core idea is landing Soulbind on two enemies. Once they're leashed together, any single-target spell cast on one also hits the other. This means a single Assassinate from Sniper can potentially execute two heroes at once, which can completely swing a fight. Even outside of that ultimate combo, Grimstroke's Stroke of Fate provides a long-range slow that helps Sniper keep his distance and land more shots, making laning and early skirmishes a bit easier.

Executing this plan depends entirely on Grimstroke's positioning and timing. If he can catch two important heroes with Soulbind, the fight is often won before it begins. The enemy team knows this is the primary threat, though. They will focus on flanking and bursting Sniper before he can get damage off, or they will try to kill Grimstroke before he can cast his ultimate. Without a good Soulbind, Sniper and Grimstroke don't offer each other much beyond some basic lane control, which is why this pairing feels good when it works but isn't a guaranteed win.
