Grimstroke + Storm Spirit

Why this works

Controlling the map as a duo can feel disjointed because of how these two heroes use their mana. The ideal combination involves Grimstroke landing Soulbind on two enemies, allowing Storm Spirit's Electric Vortex to lock down both. The problem is execution and resources. Both heroes are exceptionally mana-hungry early on. Storm Spirit often wants to use his mana for quick solo ganks to build a lead, while Grimstroke needs to conserve his for a decisive teamfight ultimate. This tension means they are not always on the same page, preventing them from consistently taking over the map together.

When the stars align, the combo is potent. A well-placed Soulbind gives Storm Spirit a perfect invitation to Ball Lightning in and Vortex two heroes at once, effectively winning the fight. Grimstroke’s Ink Swell can also provide the initial stun for Storm to start his attack. The weakness is that the entire play hinges on a successful Soulbind. If Grimstroke misses or only catches one target, or if the enemy team simply spreads out, Storm is left in a risky position. The success of this pairing often comes down to perfect coordination against a poorly positioned team, which doesn't happen every game.
