Gyrocopter + Windranger

Why this works

Sharing the map's resources becomes a serious problem for this pairing. Both Gyrocopter and Windranger are greedy heroes who need a lot of farm to hit their item timings and become effective damage dealers. They end up clearing the same parts of the map, slowing down each other's progression instead of accelerating the team's overall net worth. Their abilities also lack a strong complimentary element; Windranger’s Shackleshot can set up a kill, but the rest of their kits mostly overlap by providing different kinds of damage without much else to enable one another.

This competition for gold leads to a difficult mid-game. Opponents can group up and pressure objectives, knowing that neither Gyrocopter nor Windranger will have the items they need to take a decisive teamfight. An under-farmed Gyrocopter can't output enough Flak Cannon damage, and a poor Windranger can't find solo kills with Focus Fire. The game often becomes a desperate race for space that neither hero can create for the other, allowing enemies to seize map control and close out the game before this duo can ever get online.
