Huskar + Pugna

Why this works

Trying to keep a low-health Huskar alive can be surprisingly tricky. Pugna’s Life Drain seems like a perfect fit, but constantly healing Huskar works against his Berserker's Blood passive, which grants him immense attack speed and magic resistance when he's near death. A Pugna who keeps Huskar topped off is actively reducing his damage output and durability against spells. Pugna can use Decrepify to save a focused Huskar from physical attacks, but this also prevents Huskar from attacking, turning him into a temporary ghost who can't contribute. The abilities interfere with each other more than they help.

In practice, this pairing feels awkward. A fight starts with Huskar using Life Break to jump a target, and he immediately needs to be at low health to be effective. The Pugna has to decide whether to use Life Drain and weaken his own carry's damage, or hold it and risk Huskar dying. The timing for a defensive Decrepify is also very difficult, often coming too late or taking Huskar out of the fight at a key moment. Since Pugna is a fragile backline hero, he can’t always position aggressively enough to support the deep dives Huskar needs to make to win.
