Invoker + Lion

Why this works

Playing from behind with this lineup can be tough because both heroes need levels and items to be effective. An Invoker wants to farm for his key items and a Lion needs his level milestones to have an impact. This shared need for resources can slow your team’s tempo, as neither hero is great at creating early map pressure or farming dangerous areas for the other. This often leaves the team feeling passive, waiting for both heroes to hit their timings before you can confidently contest the map.

The lockdown from this duo looks good on paper, but in practice, it can be redundant. Lion's Hex or Earth Spike is often just long enough for him to secure a kill with Finger of Death, which doesn't always set up a full Invoker combo like Meteor and Deafening Blast. Coordinating their spells without overlapping the control takes more effort than it does with other supports. While they can certainly delete one hero who gets caught, their abilities don't chain together to control a whole teamfight as smoothly as other pairings might.
