Invoker + Necrophos

Why this works

Trying to kite Necrophos is the usual plan, but that falls apart when an Invoker is on his team. A well-placed Ice Wall or a simple Cold Snap is often enough to hold a target in place, letting Necrophos stay close and land multiple Death Pulses. This steady damage and lockdown make it much easier to set up a clean Reaper's Scythe. Invoker provides the specific type of control that Necrophos lacks, turning a hero who can be avoided into one who can reliably stick to his targets.

This partnership comes online in the mid-game. Invoker can set up ganks with Tornado or scout with his Forge Spirits, creating opportunities for Necrophos to join fights and secure kills. The goal is to find pickoffs and convert them into objectives. However, this requires coordination. Enemies will try to burst one of them down before they can act together or will simply disengage when they see the setup coming. The success of this duo depends heavily on timing and positioning, which is why it only offers a small leg up.
