Invoker + Nyx Assassin

Why this works

Pairing these two heroes is a bet on coordinating ganks across the map. Nyx Assassin excels at finding isolated targets with Vendetta. Once he's in position, a well-timed Impale provides the lockdown needed for Invoker to land a guaranteed Sun Strike from anywhere on the map. This creates kill threat on heroes that would otherwise feel safe farming a lane. Adding Mana Burn to the mix further drains the target’s ability to respond or retaliate, often securing kills that might otherwise get away with a sliver of health and a saved spell.

This pressure is most effective during the mid-game. Enemy cores are forced to play less greedily, knowing that Nyx Assassin could be scouting for an easy kill setup for Invoker. This can force enemies to group up earlier than they'd like, ceding map control and farming space. However, the combo relies entirely on good timing and communication; a missed Impale or a late Sun Strike means the gank fails. Opponents will also adapt with detection and five-man movements, so the duo needs to convert their early pickoffs into a tangible lead before that window closes.
