Invoker + Omniknight

Why this works

Picking these two heroes together is a bet on a simple plan: let Invoker cast his big spells. Omniknight excels at enabling this. A timely Heavenly Grace can purge a silence that would otherwise stop a game-winning combo, while Guardian Angel allows an Exort Invoker to stand his ground against physical damage dealers and unload spells without fear. The synergy is mostly one-directional, with Omniknight acting as a dedicated bodyguard for his team's primary spellcaster, ensuring he can get his powerful abilities off cleanly.

In practice, this plan is reliable but not overwhelming. The heroes rarely interact in the early game. Their strength comes online in mid-game teamfights when Omniknight has his ultimate ready for Invoker's initiations. The pairing's success is very dependent on the opponent's draft, though. Against heavy magical burst or teams with strong purges for Heavenly Grace, Omniknight's protection can feel less impactful. While having a personal lifesaver is always good for Invoker, the duo doesn't create the kind of proactive, aggressive plays that other combinations do, making it a stable but not exceptional pairing.
