Invoker + Pangolier

Why this works

Trying to land a Sun Strike or Meteor on a target caught in Rolling Thunder can be frustrating. Pangolier's ultimate provides lockdown, but it also moves enemies around erratically, making it very difficult for an Invoker to line up his spells. A target stunned by the roll is often pushed out of the impact zone at the last moment. While both heroes want to combo off a setup, the chaotic nature of Pangolier's initiation doesn't provide the clean, stationary target that Invoker's biggest spells need to be reliable.

Across the game, this means they often don't connect for the huge burst kills you'd expect. Invoker might have to settle for using Cold Snap or Ice Wall to help Pangolier chase with Swashbuckle, which is useful but less impactful than a full combo. In teamfights, Pangolier creates a lot of disruption, but Invoker is often left trying to pick off targets on the edge of the chaos rather than following up directly on the main initiation. They both contribute, but their core abilities don't always amplify each other.
