Invoker + Clockwerk

Why this works

Finding a pickoff with this duo relies on a classic setup. Clockwerk's Hookshot provides a perfect, stationary target inside his Power Cogs. This gives Invoker all the time he needs to land a global Sun Strike for huge damage. At closer ranges, combining Battery Assault's ministuns with Cold Snap can lock a single enemy down for an incredibly long time, preventing any escape. The entire concept revolves around Clockwerk providing the lockdown for Invoker to layer on his damage spells.

In practice, this works well for ganking and creating map pressure during the mid-game. The problem is that it's almost exclusively a single-target plan. Teams that stick together or have strong defensive supports can often turn the initiation around, leaving Clockwerk isolated and exposed. The combo's success hinges entirely on landing that initial Hookshot on a valuable target and Invoker having the right spell invoked and ready to go. Because it offers little against a full five-man push, the pairing often feels situational rather than consistently powerful.
