Invoker + Ursa

Why this works

Seeing Cold Snap paired with a hero like Ursa makes you think it’s a free kill every time. The theory is sound: Ursa’s fast attacks from Overpower should keep an enemy locked down under Cold Snap’s stuns. The problem is that it only guarantees the first few hits. An opponent with a Force Staff, Glimmer Cape, or natural escape can often survive the initial burst and get away. Ursa needs to stick to a target to be effective, and while Invoker has other control spells, they aren't always enough to guarantee Ursa can keep hitting someone who wants to run.

This creates a mismatch in timing and goals. The duo has some kill potential in the early game, but their power spikes don't line up perfectly. Ursa wants to accelerate the pace and fight around objectives like Roshan as soon as he can. Invoker, on the other hand, is a hero who needs levels and items to come online, and he may not have the right spells or damage available when Ursa is ready to fight. They end up feeling like two strong heroes playing near each other rather than a coordinated pair.
