Invoker + Windranger

Why this works

Drafting these two heroes together often creates a team that is fighting for the same resources and role. Both Invoker and Windranger tend to be tempo-setting cores who need levels and gold to come online and start making plays. While they can set each other up for kills, their kits aren't a perfect match. A well-placed Tornado from Invoker can lift a target out of position, but this also makes it impossible for Windranger to land a Shackleshot during the lift. The coordination for a Cold Snap into Shackleshot or Focus Fire has to be precise, and it's mostly limited to killing a single hero.

This dynamic means the pair can feel a little greedy. If they don't secure an early lead through pickoffs, they may end up competing for farm to hit their crucial item timings. Enemy teams can exploit this by grouping up and forcing fights, as the duo is much better at bursting down isolated targets than dealing with a coordinated push. A successful game requires Invoker and Windranger to snowball their lanes and dominate the map separately, but their strengths don't always combine to be greater than the sum of their parts in teamfights.
