Why this works

Stacking disables with this pair feels powerful on paper. A successful Ice Path into Shadow Shaman's Shackles can hold a key enemy in place for an eternity, while Macropyre combined with Mass Serpent Ward zones a massive area during a siege or objective fight. The problem is that both heroes offer a similar style of slow, deliberate control. They don't really cover for each other's main weakness: a shared lack of mobility and survivability. Putting them together can create a backline that is very susceptible to being jumped on and blown up before they can execute their combo.

This dynamic creates a very conditional partnership. If your team is playing from ahead and initiating fights, Jakiro and Shadow Shaman can effectively pile on control to secure kills and take towers. However, when playing from behind or against aggressive, mobile enemies, they often become liabilities. The enemy team knows exactly who to target first, and since neither hero has a natural escape, a lost teamfight can happen quickly. The success of the duo depends almost entirely on which team gets to start the engagement on their own terms.
