Jakiro + Sniper

Why this works

Layering area-denial spells like Macropyre and Shrapnel seems effective on paper, but the synergy often falls short in practice. Jakiro’s lockdown is unreliable for saving a teammate. Ice Path has a formation delay, which is often too slow to peel for a Sniper who is getting jumped by mobile heroes. While Jakiro’s slows can help kite, they don’t provide the instant, hard disable needed to guarantee Sniper’s safety. Both heroes want to play far in the backline, but neither offers the other a truly dependable escape when that backline is breached.

This shared weakness defines their games. The pair can succeed at slowly sieging towers or defending a high-ground position where the enemy is forced to run into their damage-over-time spells. However, the strategy is brittle. Teams with good flankers or multiple dive heroes can easily bypass the wall of fire and pick off both Jakiro and Sniper, who lack mobility. The duo’s plan relies too much on the enemy playing into their hands, and they struggle to adapt when put on the back foot.
