Keeper of the Light + Mars

Why this works

Securing teamfight wins with this pairing often feels disjointed. Mars excels at creating a contained kill-zone with Arena of Blood, but the duo struggles to convert that setup into guaranteed kills. This can lead to stalled fights where key targets survive and escape, slowing the team's momentum and making it harder to take objectives like towers or Roshan after a pickoff. The responsibility to deliver the actual burst damage inside the Arena falls entirely to other teammates, as Keeper of the Light’s kit isn't naturally suited for that close-quarters brawl.

The main mechanical issue is that Keeper of the Light can actively sabotage his own initiator. Blinding Light has a powerful knockback that will push enemies straight out of Mars's Arena, completely wasting the cooldown. Even Will-O-Wisp can be awkward, pulling enemies toward its center and away from the Arena wall Mars wants to use. To make this work, the Keeper of the Light player needs extreme discipline, holding Blinding Light for peel and relying on a pre-channeled Illuminate to follow up a Spear stun from a safe distance.
