Kez + Lich

Why this works

Laning together often feels safe but lacks real pressure. Lich’s Frost Shield gives Kez a fantastic defensive buffer to secure farm against harass, creating a stable environment for a melee carry. The problem is converting that safety into kills. Kez is a duelist who excels when he can stick to a target, but Lich’s kit doesn't provide the aggressive, instant lockdown needed to enable that. A slow from Frost Blast and a channeled disable aren't quite enough to guarantee kills, meaning the lane frequently ends in a draw, with Kez farmed but not accelerated.

This dynamic continues into the mid-game, where their plans can diverge. Kez wants to find pickoffs and leverage his dueling strength, while Lich is looking for bigger, clumped-up teamfights to maximize Chain Frost's impact. Their effectiveness becomes very dependent on how the enemy chooses to play. If the opponents group up, the pair can be effective with Frost Shield protecting Kez as he wades into a fight started by Lich's ultimate. If the enemy splits the map and avoids full five-on-five engagements, Kez can feel stranded without the right setup to execute his own game plan.
