Kunkka + Tusk

Why this works

Committing core slots to both Kunkka and Tusk can create an awkward overlap in initiation. Tusk wants to get on top of a target with Snowball, but that movement can make it harder for Kunkka to land a clean Torrent or Ghostship. The timing becomes very demanding. Kunkka’s X Marks the Spot combo also doesn't leave a great window for Tusk to use his own spells before the target is pulled back. They both provide crowd control, but layering their spells doesn't always add up to more than the sum of their parts.

This clunky timing often shows up during mid-game ganks. A successful Snowball might move a target unpredictably and spoil the setup for Kunkka's boat. Later in teamfights, both heroes are looking to deliver big physical hits, but they can struggle to lock down multiple enemies or adapt if the initial plan fails. Since their plans can interfere with one another, success often depends on one hero holding back, which means you aren't getting the full value out of your draft.
