Kunkka + Zeus

Why this works

Clearing waves and controlling the map gets a bit easier with this duo. Both Kunkka and Zeus can shove lanes from a safe distance, which frees them up to look for opportunities together. When they find someone, Kunkka provides the lockdown that Zeus's kit is missing. X Marks the Spot is a simple and effective way to guarantee that Zeus can land all his damage, and a follow-up Torrent makes it very hard for a single target to escape. The global reach of Thundergod's Wrath can also secure kills on targets who barely survive the initial gank attempt.

This pairing relies on securing an early lead from those pickoffs, because the combo doesn't scale well against coordinated teams. The damage is almost entirely magical, so enemies can shut it down by building items like Pipe of Insight. In late game teamfights, the two heroes also have different ideas about positioning. Kunkka often wants to be in the thick of it to land his Ghostship and cleaves, while Zeus is much happier staying on the edge of the fight. This means they don't always enable each other once the laning stage is over.
