Leshrac + Phantom Lancer

Why this works

Picking Leshrac and Phantom Lancer together isn't about setting up some big combo; it's a bet on having two independent, hard-to-deal-with cores in the late game. They don't directly amplify each other's kits. Leshrac wants to run at the enemy with Pulse Nova, using his team's lockdown to land a stun. Phantom Lancer wants to create chaos with illusions and wear down single targets. Leshrac can provide a slow with Lightning Storm, but he and PL largely operate on their own, presenting different problems for the enemy with their magic and physical damage.

The game plan relies on navigating a tricky mid-game. Leshrac comes online earlier and wants to group up to push towers with Diabolic Edict. During this window, Phantom Lancer is usually still farming key items and can't contribute much to fights. The success of this duo depends on Leshrac creating enough pressure to make space for his carry. If they can force the game long, the enemy team has to itemize for two very different types of damage threats, which is a difficult task. The game often hinges on whether the enemy can punish this timing gap.
