Lich + Omniknight

Why this works

Saving a key ally often comes down to stacking defensive spells. Lich can offer up Frost Shield for its damage reduction and slow, while Omniknight can apply Heavenly Grace for a dispel and status resistance. Putting both on a single hero makes them incredibly tough to kill, especially for lineups that rely on one big burst combo to get a pick-off. This can frustrate an enemy's game plan, but it's a purely reactive measure. The two supports don't have much natural offensive chemistry, so they can't set up kills for each other very easily.

The game plan for this duo is to outlast the enemy. Fights can become long, drawn-out affairs where Omniknight and Lich continuously protect their most important core. However, this strategy can backfire if the enemy draft has sustained damage or multiple ways to control heroes after the initial saves are used. The pairing also lacks strong initiation, so you're often waiting for the other team to make a move. The game is won or lost based on whether your carry can convert that extra survivability into enough damage to win the extended fight.
