Lich + Sven

Why this works

Picking a support for Sven often comes down to making his early game survivable. Lich offers exactly that with Frost Shield, which lets Sven trade hits in lane by reducing damage and slowing attackers. This small advantage can be enough to secure his farm and start snowballing. Later on, the two have a straightforward teamfight plan: Sven can blink in with Storm Hammer, and Lich follows up with Chain Frost on the clumped, stunned targets. Sinister Gaze also provides a reliable way to drag a key enemy back into Sven's attack range if they try to kite him.

This pairing gives you a clear path to winning fights around Sven’s core item timings. The goal is to force an engagement where Sven can initiate on multiple heroes, setting up that ideal Lich ultimate. The main weakness is how predictable this is. Smart opponents will spread out to minimize the impact of both the stun and the bouncing frost. Because Lich doesn't have a true save for Sven against chain stuns or heavy magic burst, the combo relies heavily on landing that initial AoE disable. If Sven gets locked down before he connects, the whole plan can fall apart.
