Lifestealer + Slark

Why this works

Hunting for pickoffs becomes the main game plan. Lifestealer can use Infest on Slark, who acts as a delivery system with Pounce to jump on an unsuspecting target. After the leash connects, Lifestealer can emerge with Rage active, making him immune to magic while he and Slark focus down one hero. This combination is effective for bursting down single targets, as Slark can use Dark Pact to purge disables off himself while Lifestealer attacks freely. It creates a very potent ganking threat once they have their core items.

The main difficulty comes from the fact that Lifestealer and Slark both fill a similar role as farm-intensive, single-target physical cores. This can put a lot of pressure on the rest of their team to create space and can lead to a shortage of farm on the map. While they are great at punishing isolated heroes, they can struggle against lineups that want to group up and fight as five. Their combined lack of area-of-effect damage or control makes it difficult to contest teamfights if the enemy forces the issue before this pair can build a lead.
