Lina + Witch Doctor

Why this works

Facing this lane can feel oppressive. A Paralyzing Cask from Witch Doctor can set up a nearly guaranteed Light Strike Array, and stacking Maledict on top of Lina’s full combo is often enough for a kill. The problem is that both heroes are fragile and have no way to disengage. Their stuns are also less than perfect for holding someone down; the cask bounces are unpredictable and the array has a delay. If the enemy turns the aggression or gets help from a rotation, this lane can fall apart fast because neither hero can take a punch.

This initial lane pressure doesn't always translate into a won game. A core Lina needs to farm for key items to stay relevant, while Witch Doctor hits his biggest power spike in the mid-game with Maledict and Death Ward. This can create a timing conflict where one hero wants to fight and the other needs to farm. Since they both rely on dealing damage from the back lines and offer little else in terms of saves or control, a coordinated enemy team can often isolate and burst one of them before they get their spells off, neutralizing their combined threat.
