Lina + Zeus

Why this works

Picking both heroes together is a big bet on overwhelming magical burst. On paper, combining their nukes seems like a great way to delete a single target. The problem is that both Lina and Zeus offer the same kind of damage, which makes it very straightforward for the enemy team to build magic resistance items and counter the entire strategy. The duo also lacks reliable lockdown. Lina needs some setup to land Light Strike Array, and Zeus offers no stuns himself, so they struggle to initiate kills on their own.

Early on, this pairing can pick off squishy targets who are out of position. Zeus can even use Thundergod's Wrath to give vision for a cross-map Laguna Blade finish. As the game goes on, however, their impact tends to fall off. Once key enemies get a Black King Bar, a huge chunk of your team's damage is nullified. If the game doesn't end quickly, they can have a hard time dealing with durable cores, often finding that they can't burst anyone down before getting run over in a fight.
