Why this works

Trying to set up a kill with this duo highlights their straightforward game plan. Lion provides the lockdown with Earth Spike and Hex, creating a perfect window for Zeus to unload all of his magical damage. This combination can be enough to bring down a single squishy target that gets caught out. The issue is that both heroes are spending their entire kits on one kill attempt. They are both also very mana-hungry and fragile, meaning a failed gank can easily turn into their own deaths if they get counter-initiated on.

Throughout the game, the strategy remains the same: find a pickoff. Lion and Zeus are always looking for an isolated hero to delete from the map before a fight starts. When it works, their team can fight with an advantage. However, this plan is predictable and easy to itemize against with magic resistance or defensive saves. If the enemy team stays grouped, it's difficult for Lion and Zeus to find that ideal target. In a full teamfight, their impact is limited to that initial burst, and they don't offer much sustained damage or control afterwards.
